Archival Collection

This section houses various archival documents relating to the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI)’s corporate history as well as those of the Métis Nation—Saskatchewan. In addition, this section also contains various documents and photographs relating to Métis veterans and elders; back issues of New Breed and New Nation magazines; GDI’s Antique Book Collection; the Dennis and Jean Fisher Archival Collection; the Canadian Illustrated War News; and print documents and video files relating to various Métis-related conferences.  The section also houses print documents, interviews, and video files relating to Métis leaders, activists, and authors, such as James Brady, Howard Adams, Jim Sinclair, Harry Daniels, James Durocher, Paul Chartrand, Maria Campbell, and Gregory Scofield.
