Pritchard, George, Interview |
Subject: |
Lifestyle, Communities, Scrip, 1885 Resistance, Métis Land Rights, Road Allowance |
Description: |
George was interviewed on March 29, 1984 in Willowfield, Saskatchewan. George discusses the different wood-heated houses he lived in and how they could not afford furniture or glass windows. A lot of the moving around was caused by the lack of available land because as George was growing up, his family were squatters. George discusses land claims, land sales, scrip, clothing, music and law enforcement in this interview. He also has more detailed discussions of political organizations and the aftermath of the Resistance as well as the Frog Lake "Massacre". |
