Lillian was interviewed on April 17, 1984 in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan. Lillian discusses what it was like to grow up in a foster home with non-Métis parents. Although she was faced with discrimination at school, she enjoyed her six years in school. Lillian discusses the role religion played in her life and hw it has faded from her generation to her children’s. She discusses her chores at home and work outside of home and the wages from her jobs. Lillian’s husband joined the army when WWII was happening and he was away for about five years but she discusses how he was injured twice while he was away and some of the other experiences he had. She also discusses food sources such as gardens, hunting, languages, music and social life. |
