Fred was interviewed on July 18, 1973 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Mr. Paulhus is of French-Canadian descent and is not Métis. However, he is married to a Métis and has lived most of his life in a Métis community. Mr. Paulhus was born in Manitoba in 1908 to French-Canadian parents. He moved to Saskatchewan when 15 years of age and later married a Métis woman. They lived in the Duck Lake/Batoche area for a number of years. Fred discusses the 1885 Resistance: the causes, the battles and his views of Riel and Dumont. |
