Mederic was interviewed on July 12, 1973 in St. Louis, Saskatchewan. Mr. McDougall is descended from French and Scottish Half-breeds, among them the Lepine family. He himself is an active member of his community and has served as school trustee, councilor, church trustee, etc. He is also active in the Métis Society of Saskatchewan. Mederic discusses the Métis way of life and philosophy, memories of WWI, WWII, and the Depression, and discrimination against Aboriginal people. He also discusses the accounts of and the aftermath of the 1885 Resistance. |
