Description: This page has four sketches in a green and vertical format: two of Battleford and two of Fort Qu’Appelle, North-West Territories (now Saskatchewan). The two sketches from Battleford, by Lieutenant Wadmore, L.S.C, have the following captions: (1) “How a Gunner from Kingston skirmished round his own blanket and waterproof sheet in the early dawn” and (2) “Otium cum Dignitate, or Col. Herchmer, N.W.M.P., mediating on the vanity of things in general and garrison duty in particular”. The two sketches from Fort Qu’Appelle, by R. B. Urmston, have the following captions: (1) “The Camp of the 91st (Lieut.-Col. Scott’s) Battalion at Qu’Appelle Station, near Troy” and (2) “Mounted Police Quarters at Fort Qu’Appelle, with the 35th Battalion (Simcoe Foresters) on the march to the Front”.
