He was a Gunner in the 60th/76th Field Battery, RCA, and served in the United Kingdom, Europe and the central Mediterranean. His medals include: 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service medal and Clasp, and War Medal (1939-45).
