Abstract: | During the course of 2011 and early 2012, the Gabriel Dumont Institute worked with Parks Canada to collect Métis-specific information relating to Fort Battleford, Fort Walsh, and Grasslands National Park. Interviews were conducted in the late fall of 2011 and early 2012. In some instances, community members preferred to send a written response to our questionnaire rather than be interviewed. While the majority of the interviewees and those who presented written responses were Métis, some were not. Most of the interviewees were from Saskatchewan, but a few were from Medicine Hat, Alberta and one was from Brooks, Alberta. |
