The writing, in French reads, ``Georges Fisher, Grand-père maternel de Marie Tourond.`` Stephen Hardy is a descendant of such prominent Métis area families as the Fishers, Touronds, and Boyers. His grandmother was Marie Tourond who married Henri de Savoye. He and his siblings have graciously allowed the Gabriel Dumont Institute to share these photographs and biographies on this website. These family photographs were taken by Henri de Savoye—Stephen Hardy`s grandfather, a trained photographer from France.
