Description: This image (by Peter Beszterda) of a card explaining the importance of the Geneva Cross and its connection to the 1885 Resistance. This note card was prepared by Dennis Fisher. Th Geneva Cross tobacco silk was manufactured by Imperial Tobacco circa 1910-1915. It was donated to the Institute in 2013. Louis Riel taught at this mission in the mid-1880s. This item is part of the Dennis and Jean Fisher Collection. These artifacts were donated to the Institute in 2013 by Dennis and Jean Fisher after their main donation two years previous. This collection contains archaeological artifacts taken from the battlefields of the 1885 Resistance as well as Fort Pitt (Saskatchewan), Cumberland House (Saskatchewan) and St. Peter`s Mission, Montana. The collection also includes various artifacts and ephemera relating to the 1885 Resistance and Gabriel Dumont.
