Description: | This is image is of Harold Lajimodiere (1922-2000) who served with the Essex Scottish Regiment of the Canadian Army during the Second World War. In this image, he is riding a bike at Batoche National Historic Site where he served as a commissionaire. Originally from the Estevan, Saskatchewan area, his parents were Marceline Blondeau and Albert Lajimodiere. His great-grandparents were Jean-Baptiste Lagimodière and Marie-Anne Gadboury—Louis Riel’s maternal grandparents. Harold Lajimodiere was involved in the organization of Métis veterans in Saskatchewan before he passed away in 2000.
